Kenneth R. Smith was born May 10, 1942 to Raymond Paul and Opal Mae (Miller) Smith in El Reno, OK. He passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at his home in Geary, OK at the age of 74. Kenneth graduated from Calumet High School. He has lived in the Geary-Calumet area all of his life. He was united in marriage to Dixie Hall September 25, 1959 in Kingfisher, OK. Kenneth was a farmer and rancher known for his hard work and complete dedication and love to his family. He farmed wheat, alfalfa, and various other crops. He was a hard working man, a perfectionist, always striving to raise the perfect crop or the perfect show pig. Kenneth loved helping kids with their 4-H and FFA projects. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, and later enjoyed working in his yard and orchard. For many years, Kenneth participated in the Maundy Thursday program at the First Christian Church where he played the part of Simon. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Geary, and served on various boards such as the Calumet School Board, Calumet Farmer's Coop Gin Board, and the Central North Canadian Soil Conservation Board. Kenneth was Daddy, PaPa, and Uncle Kenneth to the children of the family, always guiding, giving and loving. . He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Opal Smith, grandson, Brian Kenneth Baker, and one brother, Douglas P. Smith. Kenneth is survived by his wife Dixie Smith of the home, Geary; three children, Kimberlee Kidwell and her husband Tommy of Calumet, David Smith and his wife Misty of Hobart, and Darin Smith and his wife Anita of Geary; thirteen grandchildren, Mindy Wigington and her husband Andy of Watonga, Myra Nettles and her husband Stormy of Dacoma, OK, Molly Smith and her husband Andy of Geary, Kellan, Kenlee, and Karissa Smith all of Hobart, Aaron and Hannah Goodman both of Stillwater, Davis Reents of Hobart, Kenneth Paul Smith of Norman, Stuart and Sterling Smith both of Geary, and Desi Kidwell of Baltimore, MD; eleven great grandchildren, Braxton Baker, Terner, Tate, and Libby Wigington, Shadi, Mylee, and Cash Nettles, Kale, Kaylee Mae and Kane Smith, and Adriahna Lauman; one sister, Norma Penwright of Calumet, OK; brother-in-law, Greg Hall and his wife Arnelda of Geary; nieces and nephews, Paul Penwright and his wife Lisa of Ada, Mark Penwright of Calumet, Jon Penwright and his wife Kandee of Yukon, Joel Penwright and his wife Stacey of Oklahoma City, Dawn Wedman and her husband Mark of Tulsa, Chris Hall and his wife Amy of Edmond, and Kent Hall of Mustang.
