Gracie Major was born March 24, 1936 in Omega, OK to Bryan and Grace Biehler and passed away October 9 ,2017 at the age of 81. She lived in Watonga,OK for the past 56 years where she was an elementary school teacher, a homemaker, and a dedicated wife and mother. She was a wonderful mother who taught her kids the important life values necessary for them to become loving and caring parents themselves. Gracie was a willing worker and volunteered at events for many different organizations. Her skills in the kitchen will be remembered by many. She graduated from Central State University and was a member of Watonga Christian Church, PEO, Quest Study Club, and multiple bridge groups. She married Larry Major at Omega, OK on June 28, 1957 and celebrated 60 years of life together. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John and Tom Biehler, and her sisters Rose Weinmeister and Berneda Cullum. She is survived by: her husband Larry, her 3 children and their spouses, Mike & Cathey Major of Edmond, Bill & Lisa Seitter of Watonga, Kent & Caroline Major of Houston, and her sister Doris Winter of Hitchcock. Gracie also has 14 grandchildren: Lauren, Chelsea, Claire, Luke, Josh, and Will Major; Jacob, Josiah, Noah, Eliza, Anna, Ben, and John Major; and Koby Seitter Anderson. Funeral services for Gracie Major were held Saturday, October 14th at 10:00am at the Watonga Christian Church with burial to follow at IOOF Cemetery at Watonga, Oklahoma. Memorial contributions may be made to Watonga Senior Citizens Center.
