Georgia Luella (Cain) Robison was born on April 4, 1927 to George W. and Ivie (Cozad) Cain, in Fairmont, West Virginia and passed away on July 19, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Georgia received her public school education at Fairmont and then attended Washington Adventist University in Tacoma Park, Maryland. This was during World War II and a young soldier, Elmer Gene Robison, was hitchhiking to church and was picked up by a couple going to the Tacoma Adventist Church. Georgia was the special music that day and that is how Georgia and Elmer Gene met. They were married Oct. 16, 1946 in the home of Dr. Lynn H. Woods in Tacoma Park, Maryland. When Elmer Gene was discharged from the Army at the end of World War II, Georgia and Elmer Gene boarded a train and headed for Southard, Oklahoma. A few miles south of Southard, Georgia and Elmer Gene farmed and ranched the rest of their lives. Their ranch was called the Backward E. To this marriage four children were born, Pam in 1948, Linda in 1952, Don in 1956 and George in 1957. Georgia was a dedicated member of the Canton Seventh-day Adventist Church. She volunteered many hours at both the Canton and Okeene Adventist Churches. Georgia had a beautiful singing voice. She and her two of sisters sang on local radio stations around Fairmont, West Virginia. Her singing talent was heard by many people at funerals in the Canton and Okeene areas. When Georgia was not working on the ranch, she worked as a waitress and desk clerk at Roman Nose State Lodge and at C.R. Anthony’s in Watonga. She was a member of HCE, home demonstration club, and the Watonga Municipal Hospital Auxiliary until her health began to fail. She donated her art talent to the benefit of these clubs. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer Gene Robison, and her brother, John Cain. She is survived by daughters; Pam Rickey (Lonnie), Watonga, Linda McPherson (Gary), Watonga, sons; Don (Dorene), Longdale and George, Watonga. Grandchildren surviving Georgia are Scott Rickey, Jennifer Rickey Strong, Kristy Robison Dykes, step-granddaughters Linea McPherson and Annjennette Tucker, five great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Kay Morris, Bend, Oregon, Jerry Chaddock, Sutton, West Virginia and Margie Lewis, Fairmont, West Virginia, two brothers-in-laws, Melvin Robison (Martha) and Tommy Lewis, sister-in-laws, Joyce Robison and Bonnie Cainplus numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the Okeene Seventh-day Adventist Church with burial at the Cherryvale Cemetery, Southard.
