1923~2016
Ruby Lena Dennis was born March 25, 1923 at Calumet, Oklahoma to William and Minnie(Phillips) Meade and passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the age of 93.
She was a resident of the Watonga community most of her life. Ruby worked as a LPN at the Watonga hospital for many years, then worked with her husband, Orlin on the family farm. She attended Omega and Fay Schools. Ruby was baptized in the Christian Church of Watonga. She married Orlin Dennis on October 1, 1940 in Watonga, Oklahoma. Ruby loved working in her yard and her flowers were her passion. She adored her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orlin; one son, Rick J.R. Dennis, and one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Dale Young.
Ruby is survived by two daughters: Athena Price and husband Bill of Tulsa, OK. Francis Lamothe and husband Roger of Watonga, OK. One sister-in-law: Betty Meade of Palisade, Colorado. Five grandchildren: D’Anna Vogt, Kameron Worley, Docia Swearingim, Ricky Dennis, Eric Dennis. Seven great grandchildren: Ashely Clouse, Blaine Clouse, Chelsea Berry, Jeff Vogt, Carlie Johnson, Gage Dennis, and Laney Dennis. One great grandchild: Aubree Clouse and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Ruby Dennis were held Monday, November 28, 2016 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital
