
Irven John Koetter, loving father, and grandfather went to his heavenly home on August 21, 2016. He was 95. He was the son of Herman and Josephine Koetter, born August 8, 1921. After an enlistment in the Army Air Corp, he started farming east of Hitchcock. He also worked at Southard, Watonga Machine, the Blaine County Assessor’s Office and the State Assessor’s office. He was a past member of the Watonga Senior Citizen’s Center. He was preceeed in death by his parents, Herman and Josephine brother Vincent Koetter and wife Michele, Albuquerque, NM; brother Amil Koetter of Albuquerque, NM, sister Irene Rund of Okarche, and brother-in-law James Sarver. Irven is survived by a sister, Norma Sarver of Wake Village, TX; sister in-law, Wilba Koetter of Albuquerque, NM; and brother in-law Wilford Rund, Okarche. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Olive June Wray Koetter (d.1996) and after her death he was married to Ruth Berkley Saxon Koetter for 18 years (d.2015). He is survived by his children, daughter Roni Curry, OKC, OK; son Stephen Koetter and wife Nina of Cameron, NC; son John Koetter and wife Cindy of Hitchcock, OK and daughter Mary and husband Kevin Wagner of Gilford, NH. Among them they have 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Ruth’s 10 children: Cyndi Saxon of Tucson, AZ, Paul Saxon and wife Linda of Pensacola, FL; Theresa Saxon of Wichita, KS; Daniel Saxon of Tucson, AZ; Stephen Saxon wife Angie of Montgomery, TX; John Saxon, Raymond Saxon of Montgomery, TX; Richard Saxon and wife Kathy of Houston, TX; Robert and Linda Saxon of Montgomery, TX; and Mary Saxon of Tucson, AZ. They have 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held Friday, August 26, 2016 at Wilkinson Mortuary 208 N Noble Ave, in Watonga, Oklahoma. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was Friday, August 26, 2016 at St Rose of Lima Parish in Watonga, Oklahoma. The funeral was held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St Rose of Lima Parish, 900 North Clarence Nash Blvd. Watonga followed by interment at the I.O.O.F cemetery. Wilkinson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
